Established on April 19, 2016, HugotSeminarista is an Online Catholic companion made to promote Catholic faith, updated news and vocations, with greater focus on the road-less taken—priesthood.
Aligned with its tagline "Para sa mga seminarista, ex-seminarista at mga katolikong bok at 'ter na may hugot," HugotSeminarista envisions its mission on expanding the Word in multimedia, geared towards becoming agent of social transformation in the community, parishes and the local Church.
On its first anniversary, HugotSeminarista bagged its three nominations in the Catholic Social Media awards (CSMA), namely:
• BEST CATHOLIC ORGANIZATION—FACEBOOK PAGE 2017 CATEGORY
• VIRAL STORY OF THE YEAR CATEGORY 2017, 'A CALLING TO LOVE YOU."
• BEST CATHOLIC HASHTAG 2017 CATEGORY
In 2018, HugotSeminarista was again recognized by the same Award giving body with a nomination for BEST CATHOLIC FACEBOOK PAGE 2018 CATEGORY.
Later this year, HugotSeminarista has finally received its first fish (trophy) for winning the CSMA'S BEST CATHOLIC FACEBOOK PAGE 2019 CATEGORY. The Catholic Social Media Awards, headed by Msgr. Pedro Quitorio III, Director, CBCP- Media Office, recognized HugotSeminarista's mission for being one of the best Online Communicators in its social media platform.
Currently, HugotSeminarista is expanding its mission to reach wider audiences in other Social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Wattpad. It is also hoping to extend its horizon by collaborating with other pages, organizations and personalities; by planning to establish a website, and; by welcoming future collaborations.
